Pat is a writer who became a CD who became an ECD who became a writer.
He's created award-winning work for national and international brands and has helped young folks do the same. He'll occasionally plant his leg in advertising, but these days he's more likely to publish an essay (why not), host a podcast (oh god), paint something (c'mon now), or put a short narrative to film (not cliche in the least).
That's all you need to know, but in case you want the lowdown on his work history, here it is:
He spent a minute in tech (contracting at Facebook). And once was the Executive Creative Director at Cole & Weber, leading work for the Seattle Seahawks, International Olympic Committee, Chateau St. Michelle, BridgeSpan, and the Washington State Lottery—while also winning pitches for Benchmade Knives, DeVry, and the release of Rock Band 4, helping Cole & Weber gain millions in revenue during his time there.
Just prior to Cole & Weber, Pat had moved to Seattle with his family and kept busy freelancing for Creature, Mullen, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Mother London, BBDO NY, and DDB Chicago. Before that he worked as a creative director for Wieden+Kennedy London on Nokia, Honda, Guardian Newspapers, and successfully pitched and won Arla Foods and Nestea.
Pat was also a creative director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners and created campaigns for Comcast and Got Milk? and CD’d successful pitches for Starbucks and The Commonwealth Bank of Australia. His award-winning work on Got Milk? was the brand’s first crack at digital relevance. GSP was twice named Adweek’s Agency of the Year while he was there.
He also had formative gigs at The Martin Agency and DDB Los Angeles. While in LA, he created a super bowl campaign for Ameriquest Mortgage. Both films that ran during the game that year cracked the USA Today poll’s top ten, ranking number 2 and number 9.
Pat has been awarded and recognized by every major awards organization in his field including: Cannes, The One Show, The Clios, D&AD, New York Art Directors Club, London International, The Effies, Andy Awards, Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Awards, The Webbys, AICP, The Kellys, CA Magazine, Los Angeles Belding Awards and The Emmys. Pat has also been a member of the award show jury for AICP and Communication Arts.
